The Christ the King R.H.S., Middle Village, Royals’ varsity basketball won its second straight CHSAA City Championship March with a win over the Bishop Loughlin M.H.S., Fort Greene, Lions.
It’s the Royals second straight city title and fourth in a five-year span.
The varsity basketball teams from Bishop Kearney H.S. and Christ the King R.H.S. won their respective title games to be crowned 2014 GCHSAA Brooklyn/Queens champions.
In a battle of local basketball rivals, the Bishop Loughlin M.H.S. Lions earned a statement 90-71 victory over the Christ the King R.H.S. Royals in this year’s CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens Championship.

St. Francis College and LIU Brooklyn have met in the “Battle of Brooklyn” for the past 39 years.
This year was the first time the contest was held at Barclays Center, and LIU earned a 69-68 win.
The St. John’s University Jamaica Campus hosted the 17th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day Feb. 8.
The day began with a children’s multi-sport clinic and wrapped up with a victory from the Red Storm women’s basketball team.
